Pacifico is an exclusive gated community minutes from the beach and the restaurants and shops of downtown Playas del Coco. Coco is rivaled only by Tamarindo as the most popular seaside tourism mecca on Costa Rica’s beach-studded Gold Coast in Guanacaste. A surprising number of foreigners come to Coco for a visit and never leave!

Staying here also gives you access to the Pacifico Beach Club, which offers the best beachfront lounging in town. Daily rates for adults are $30 per person, which is applied toward food and drink. The Pacifico resort itself is located several blocks from the beach, but a shuttle is available to take guests to the Beach Club, which has two beautiful infinity pools, fine dining, a well-stocked bar and of course a beach.

Coco’s tranquil, horseshoe-shaped bay has attracted Costa Rican vacationers since the 1950s, and this was one of the first beach towns in Guanacaste accessible by road. Foreign tourists discovered the place in the 1980s, inaugurating decades of growth, construction and infrastructure improvements.

Originally a sleepy fishing village, Coco still draws anglers looking to hook mahi-mahi, tuna, snapper and even sailfish and marlin. It’s also a jumping-off place for scuba diving, surfing excursions and sunset cruises.
